Sustainability
We are committed to minimizing our environmental impact and operating a sustainable event.
【Bike Course】
- To eliminate waste, our water stations will not provide disposable bike bottles, etc. Please bring your own bottle to refill at stations.
【Run】
- Water will be available in paper cups but for better hydration and to help us reduce waste, we highly recommend carrying your own soft flask or bottle.
- Ice will be available for cooling at Aid Stations. If you’d like to make an ice bag, don’t forget to bring a container or zip-top bag for our staff to fill.
Clothing Rules
Wetsuits are required for the swim. However, if the water temperature exceeds 30 degrees Celsius on the morning of the event, the wetsuit requirement will be lifted. A final announcement will be made on the morning of the race.
※You must bring your own triathlon-specific wetsuit which covers the torso with neoprene (synthetic rubber).
※For safety, ensure your wetsuit is a proper fit. A wetsuit that is too tight can restrict blood flow and place undue strain on the heart.
Full race apparel (both top and bottom) must be worn at all times during the bike and run segments. Rolling up or removing your top is not permitted. If your top has a front zipper, it must not be lowered below the sternum. Please be sure your zipper is fully fastened before you cross the finish line.
Bike
For your safety and the safety of others, all bicycles must pass an inspection before the race. Please get your bicycle inspected in advance. It must be in the same condition as it will be use on race day. Please submit the required certificate at check-in. As this event involves bike racing on public roads, it is mandatory to have a warning device (bell, etc.) and a rear light or reflector attached. Participants without the required equipment will not be able to participate in the event.
Trash Policy
Please help us keep Sado clean.
Do not litter on the course and only throw trash in the designated trash cans.
Please help by taking any personal items or trash home with you.
Please do not hand trash directly to staff or volunteers.
Yield to Emergency Vehicles
In the event of an emergency such as an accident or fire during the race, emergency vehicles may pass through the course. Even during the race, emergency vehicles and rescue operations have the right of way. This means immediately slowing down, stopping, or moving out of the way to allow them to pass.
